1 x bag of white sand
1 x Syringes
1 x anti-escape powder
1 x small food plate.
If you pick up, can pick up the one in photo, so the ant will be there and digging some already.
if shipping, you have to set up farm, then put ant in tube in there.
Ochetellus glaber ant will be good species for this farm, they digging around, also they lay lots of eggs, grow fast.
The farm is designed for ant dig their own tunnel, so we can watch them digging.
This farm is designed for stalable humidity, so the sand will be moisture but not too wet. ( if too dry, the tunnel will fall, if too wet, ant will Drowning)
you need use Syringes (includede) to add 5-10ml water at the bottom water area every week. The water-absorbing stone will evenly and slowly diffuse the absorbed water into the entire nest chamber.
This farm have 2 red cover, it can make sure the ant digging on the side, so you can see it. if without red cover, ant will digging inside the sand, you will never see what they doing.
here is little instruction how to set up and use.
1, when you got it from parcel, add sand until cover wood piece high.
2, fill the water by use Syringes at bottom, may need around 50ml water, until it reach the add water hole.
3, have to wait 6-8 hours until all sand wet. this is slow but it also very stable which we need.
4. use a pen or stick to digging little hole inside the wood area.
5, apply anti-escape powder
6. add ant in, you can put whole tube in.
7. it will take 2-7 days, for ant digging in some area before whole colony move in.
8. once ant in, can take the tube out.
9. use Syringes (includede) to add 5-10ml water at the bottom water area every week.
can hold up to 2000 small ant.
