Best Pet Ant - blue pony ant (Rhytidoponera chalybaea) 

We start to sell blue pony ants since 2023, received lots of positive feedback on this ant, that’s why we call this ant as the best pet ant.

It is easy to take care of, do gamergate, easy to feed, large size, fast population, have cocoon stage.

I got almost 100% successful feedback for people that keep those ants. Suitable for ages 5 to adult. Buyer location from Kerikeri to Invercargill. This ant can stay in most temperatures as long as you keep them inside house ( don’t put them under sun for long time). High range of humidity, even if you forget to put water in for few weeks, they will still be okay.

You can feed it honey water, small insects, peanuts, chicken, beef, fruit, and even KFC.

They are the second largest ant in NZ. Blue pony is one of the easiest ants to keep that is large. It’s about 3 times longer than normal black ants; about 8mm-10mm size.

This ant has a very nice colour. It will sparkle a nice blue when it’s under sun or good light resources. (Black when not good lighting)

It is very fast for such a large ant. blue pony ants lay lots of eggs and easy to take care of, so you will get lots of ants in a short time.
